Do you know The Capital of Scandinavia?
I ask you because I - living in Scandinavia -
don't! know a Capital of Scandinavia.
Actually there has once been a Capital of
Scandinavia - Copenhagen.
From 1397 and until 1523 the Danish king was the
ruler of Kalmarunionen - an union of the three Scandinavian
countries Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
In the period 1417-1523 the capital city of the
union was Copenhagen.
Since 1523 where Sweden left the union there has been no
Scandinavian capital city.
Scandinavia is a geographic name of three
independent states; Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
In order to promote Stockholm, some "smart" Swedes
within the tourist- and trade business lately have called their
capital,
Stockholm, The Capital of Scandinavia.
Well then, if Stockholm is the capital of Scandinavia, we
have to call
our Danish capital, Copenhagen,
The Metropolis of
Scandinavia.
